Full-service drop-off & pick-up
Traveling to or from another airport? We handle those as long-distance / regional trips — just ask.
Two directions, one calm hand-off.
Drop-off and pick-up read side by side, so you can see exactly how each trip goes — from your home to the departures curb, and from the arrivals curb back to your door. Hands-on help inside the terminal is an optional Meet & Greet add-on.
Airport Drop-Off
Door-through-door pickup from home or a facility, luggage loaded, and an unhurried drive to your terminal — dropped right at the departures curb.
Door-Through-Door Pickup
A steady hand from inside your home to the van, with your luggage loaded for you.
To Your Terminal
A clean, accessible vehicle, timed so you arrive with room to spare for your flight.
Curbside at Departures
We drop you and your companion right at the departures curb — your Specialist stays with the van, since curb time is limited.
Help Through Check-In
Meet & Greet add-onA staff member helps with the check-in process and your luggage, all the way to the airline check-in counter.
Airport Pick-Up
We watch your flight and meet you at the terminal pickup curb — then it’s door-through-door, all the way inside your home.
We Watch Your Flight
We track early or delayed arrivals and set your pickup about an hour after landing — time to get off the plane and collect your bags.
Meet at the Pickup Curb
Make your way out to the terminal pickup curb or the designated cell-lot spot, and your Specialist is there with the van.
Door-Through-Door Home
Into the vehicle and all the way inside your home — not just dropped at the curb.
Met Inside at Baggage Claim
Meet & Greet add-onA staff member waits at baggage claim with a sign in your name, so you spot them right away. They help with your luggage while the driver waits nearby — and the van pulls up at the curb as your bags are collected.
Wheelchair-accessible and ambulatory — Our rear-entry accessible vans carry wheelchairs, bariatric wheelchairs, and mobility equipment; ambulatory clients are welcome too.
Tell us your luggage count — Checked bags and carry-ons. Space inside our accessible vans is limited — wheelchairs and mobility equipment come first — so an accurate count lets us send the right vehicle for your group and bags.
Example: a drop-off for a 4:10 PM flight. A Transportation Specialist picks the client up at home at 1:15 PM, loads the luggage, and drops them at the Terminal 1 departures curb at 2:05 PM — with Meet & Greet, a staff member then helps them to the airline check-in counter.
We time the trip around your flight.
For drop-offs, we plan the pickup at your door around your flight time and terminal, load your luggage, and drive you to the departures curb with room to spare — so the airport part of the trip starts calm.
Book ahead when you can, especially for early-morning flights. Have your flight details ready and the call goes quickly.
Add Meet & Greet and a staff member helps you through check-in, all the way to the airline counter.
Example: a pick-up from a flight scheduled to land at O’Hare at 4:52 PM, so the pickup is set for 5:52 PM — about an hour after landing. When the flight is delayed to 5:20 PM, we move the pickup to 6:20 PM; it lands at 5:18 PM, and the pickup is at 6:18 PM.
We watch the flight, so you don’t wait.
For pick-ups, we keep an eye on your flight’s status and adjust for early or delayed arrivals — so a Transportation Specialist is at the curb when you’re actually ready, not long before or long after.
Wait time may apply for extended delays — we’ll walk you through it when you book.
Why we set the pickup about an hour after landing
- Clients who need wheelchair assistance are usually the last off the plane — airlines help the other passengers off first.
- Checked bags take time to reach baggage claim.
- So a 4:52 PM landing means a 5:52 PM pickup — and if the flight moves, the pickup moves with it.
You don’t face the terminal alone.
The airport curb is where standard service ends — a Transportation Specialist can’t leave the van, and curb time is limited. Meet & Greet is an optional add-on that sends a staff member into the terminal to help you through it. What it includes depends on the direction of your trip.
On Departures
A staff member helps with the check-in process and your luggage, all the way to the airline check-in counter.
On Arrivals
A Rainbow Road Transport staff member waits at baggage claim with a sign in your name, so you and your family see them right away. They help with your luggage and stay in touch with the driver waiting nearby — so as your bags are collected, the van is pulling up at the curb.
Where our help ends — honestly
Meet & Greet is help through the terminal on the ground. If you need someone to travel with the client — through security, to the gate, and on the flight itself — that’s our Flight Nurse Companion service, and we’ll point you there.

Questions we hear most
Still unsure? Call (847) 585-8888 and we’ll walk you through it.
Yes — we serve both Chicago O’Hare (ORD) and Midway (MDW), all terminals, domestic and international. Flying from a different airport? We handle those as long-distance or regional trips — just ask when you book.
Meet & Greet is an optional add-on, available for an additional charge.
Standard airport service is door-through-door at your home and curbside at the airport — a Transportation Specialist stays with the van, since curb time is limited.
Meet & Greet adds a staff member inside the terminal: on departures, help with check-in and luggage to the airline check-in counter; on arrivals, a Rainbow Road Transport staff member waiting at baggage claim with a sign in your name, so you spot them right away. They help with your bags and stay in touch with the driver waiting nearby, so the van pulls up at the curb as your bags are collected.
If you need someone to travel with the client through security and onto the flight, that’s our Flight Nurse Companion service.
For pick-ups, yes. We watch your flight’s status and adjust for early or delayed arrivals, so a Specialist is at the curb when you’re actually ready — not long before or long after. Wait time may apply for extended delays, and we’ll walk you through it when you book.
We normally set the pickup about an hour after the flight’s arrival time — so a 4:52 PM landing means a 5:52 PM pickup.
Clients who need wheelchair assistance are usually the last off the plane, because airlines help the other passengers off first, and checked bags take time to reach baggage claim. The extra time means you’re not rushed. If the flight is early or late, we move the pickup to match.
Tell us your checked bags and carry-ons at booking. Space inside our accessible vans is limited — wheelchairs and mobility equipment come first — so an accurate count lets us send the right-sized vehicle for your group and bags.
Yes. Our rear-entry accessible vans carry wheelchairs, bariatric wheelchairs, and mobility equipment, and ambulatory clients are welcome too. We confirm the equipment fit at booking.
