This website has not been independently audited for accessibility. What follows is an honest account of the measures we have taken and the gaps we know about — not a claim of conformance. If something here does not work for you, call us at (847) 585-8888 and a person will do it with you.
Our Commitment
Accessibility is one of our core values, and most of the people we transport live with a disability, a mobility limitation, or a condition that makes an ordinary trip hard. A website that shut those clients out would contradict the service it advertises. We are working to make rainbowroadllc.com usable by as many people as possible, whatever device, assistive technology, or way of navigating they use.
The Standard We Are Working Toward
We build toward the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2 at Level AA, which is the benchmark used by the ADA and Section 508. We have not commissioned an independent audit, so we describe this as ongoing work rather than as conformance. When an audit is completed, this page will say so and will say what it found.
What We Have Done So Far
- A “skip to content” link on every page, so a keyboard or screen-reader user can pass the navigation.
- Headings, landmarks, and lists used for their real meaning, so the page structure carries over to a screen reader.
- Links, buttons, menus, and forms reachable and operable by keyboard alone, with a clearly visible focus outline.
- Text alternatives for meaningful images, and decorative images hidden from assistive technology.
- Color contrast checked against the AA target, in both the light and the dark color scheme.
- Meaning never carried by color alone — icons, labels, and text carry it too.
- Motion and animation reduced automatically when your device asks for reduced motion.
- Layouts that reflow on small screens and hold together when text is enlarged, with wide tables scrolling inside themselves instead of pushing the page sideways.
- Plain-language copy, with the shortest possible route to a phone number on every page.
Known Limitations
We would rather name these than let you discover them:
- No independent audit yet, and no testing report to publish. Our checks are internal.
- Some tools on this site are operated by third parties — the booking and quoting tool, mapping, and payment checkout. Their accessibility is not fully under our control. If one of them blocks you, call us and we will complete the booking or the payment with you over the phone.
- Documents and content supplied by partners may not meet the same standard as the pages we build ourselves.
- The site is new, and we expect to find issues we have not found yet. Reports from clients and families are the fastest way we learn about them.
Accessibility of the Transportation Itself
The website is one part of access. The service is the rest of it.
- Wheelchair-accessible vehicles — ADA-compliant rear-entry conversions with a fold-out ramp and 4-point QRT securement plus lap and shoulder belts, so a client travels in their own chair.
- Four levels of service — ambulatory, wheelchair, bariatric wheelchair, and stretcher — so the vehicle is matched to the client rather than the other way round.
- Door-through-door assistance on every ground transport, at no extra charge. We come inside to get you and walk you inside at the other end.
- Transportation Specialists certified through PASS — Passenger Assistance, Safety, and Sensitivity.
- One family member, companion, or caregiver rides free, and a companion we staff can be booked in advance when family is not available.
- Equipment and support needs — including oxygen, a feeding tube, or a bariatric chair — accommodated when you tell us at booking, so the right vehicle and Transportation Specialists are assigned.
If This Website Does Not Work for You
You never have to use this website to get a ride. Everything on it can be done by phone or by email, by a person, at no disadvantage to you:
- Call (847) 585-8888 — our contact center answers weekdays 7 AM–10 PM and weekends 8 AM–5 PM. Outside those hours a limited team and our AI assistant, Iris, take bookings.
- Email reservation@rainbowroadllc.com and we will call you back to arrange the trip.
- Ask a family member, caregiver, case manager, or facility to book on your behalf — we take bookings from all of them.
- Ask us to read any page of this site to you over the phone, or to send the information in another format.
Tell Us About a Barrier
If any part of this website or of our service was hard or impossible for you to use, we want to hear it — it is the most useful thing you can send us. Email info@rainbowroadllc.com or call (847) 585-8888, and where you can, tell us the page you were on, what you were trying to do, and the device, browser, or assistive technology you were using. We aim to reply within three business days, and we will tell you what we can fix and when.
If your concern is about the privacy of your health information rather than about access, write to our Privacy Officer instead — the details are below, and there is more in our Notice of Privacy Practices.
How This Page Is Kept Current
